Skyscanner is a travel fare aggregator website and travel search engine based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We (Flightscanner) are not related to Skyscanner.

Skyscanner is said to be a leading global travel search site. It is a place where people are can plan and book flight tickets, car hire and hotels.

Skyscanner claims they are unbiased and free, and that the 60 million people who use us their services every month can trust their comprehensive range of flight, hotel and car hire options.

Flightscanner.com.ng also offers flight bookings, car hire and hotel reservations at fantastic prices. The difference is that we are focused on Nigeria and often have unique special offers.

Skyscanner have a free mobile app which has apparently been downloaded over 70 million times. They say they are global but local, and their products are available in over 30 languages and 70 currencies.

Skyscanner was founded in 2003, and they allegedly employ over 900 people. Skyscanner has offices in Barcelona, Beijing, Budapest, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Miami, Shenzhen, Singapore and Sofia. As you can see, this is quite a large organisation.

Skyscanner is free for travellers to use. They do not charge the end user a commision. They make their money from the companies they list.

They work with airlines and online travel agent partners in a number of ways. Some of their partners agree to give Skyscanner a commission for every booking made through Skyscanner. In some cases, for every time travellers visit a partner’s website. Other Skyscanner partners advertise on the Skyscanner website and app.

So in summary, Skyscanner and Flightscanner.com.ng are completely unrelated, however, we both offer flight bookings, hotel reservations and car hire. The big difference is that FlightScanner.com.ng is entirely focused on the Nigerian travel market.
